Justice may be blind but we should not be.
Justice (Card XI) speaks for itself, and requires no explanation – typically, portrayed as a beautiful woman with a sword, scales, and blindfold. The center card appears above as an important reminder of an often forgotten trait; Justice is not soft, and can be harsh, almost to the point of cruelty. If Justice is true, the punishments fit the crimes (i.e. an eye for an eye), and half-sister Revenge nips around the edges (we must be ever mindful of this threatening presence).
In our daily lives, we often try to make things “fair” or “even” or “right” and this is an incredible source of stress and disappointment for many people. The Inner-child screaming, “It’s not fair!” when a promotion does not come through, or a date does not result as hoped, or the guy in front of us buys the last blueberry muffin.
REMINDER: LIFE IS NOT FAIR!!!
The best way to live a just life: be authentic, stand your ground to the best of your ability, and live in the moment with consideration to the future.
- Didn’t get the promotion? It was not for you, that’s okay. Keep looking – you will find the right thing.
- Date didn’t work out? No harm, no foul – better to know up front. Keep looking – who you want is out there.
- No blueberry muffin for you? Try a scone.
It is not enough to have a Plan B; life is all about how you handle Plan B.
If you are operating from an authentic place, you will handle Plan B with both grace and aplomb because you have no right to inflict your disappointment on anyone else as it would not be just.
Be your own best ambassador – be authentic.
