Of the many names for this moon (Snow, Wolf, Hunger), I have chosen Storm Moon; feel free to hum Gimme Shelter (or listen here) as surely the astro-storms are raging. The general energy of this moon would focus on that last push to spring – surviving what is left of winter, often the deepest and most treacherous part of the season.

The cards speak of strength, happiness, patience, love, faith – everything we need to  withstand the long, cold winter.

Storm Moon is a good time to prepare for upcoming holidays and events (e.g. Ostara, Passover, Lent, Easter, etc.). Design rituals or events you wish to create; know what you want to do, how you plan to do it, and how you want it to look – really, it is your renewal spell for Spring, it should be whatever you want it to be. Once you have the design in mind,  create a list of ingredients, tools, decorations, etc; take inventory to know what you must make (Moon Water, Seven Day Salt, Florida Water, etc), collect, borrow or buy. You will want to charge crystals and tools in preparation as well – you will need them to get the work done, right? Right!

TO SUM UP: This moon is hope. You know Spring must be coming, and you will be ready to greet her with arms wide open because you began preparations while Winter was still very much on the scene. We do not dwell on the cold of Winter because we anticipate the growth of Spring and the warmth of Summer. ((NOTE: Consider applying that same hopefully energy to life in general; do not allow political news and poor leadership to dissuade you from the joy life holds. Be hopeful, be brave, and hang on.))
