Winter is on the wane and Spring is on the rise; sap is rising, birds are returning, skunks (and their friends) are waking to springtime shenanigans. Look around; everyone is looking forward to a new season of growth and renewal. Everyone seems ready for a change of pace. Normally, I would not draw politics into a Full Moon reading; unfortunately, I feel I would be remiss if I did not at this time, as it ties directly to Full Crow Moon.

This blog is written in Chicago, Illinois, US – a significant city in the American Midwest, largely liberal but too practical overall to be truly progressive (centrists, really) – and our climate (weather as well as political) has been off-kilter for the last year or so. I would have thought a local murder – three crows I often see near a local coffee shop, I often think they are trying t get my attention, and I always wonder what it is they know that I do not – would have moved on to warmer, less congested climes but alas, no; they appeared rather frequently throughout the year, including Winter. I am always happy to see them, and I greet them cheerfully, because I know they are not whimsical but purposeful: they are always harbingers of change.
And WOW! The times are a-changin’!
For better or worse, we are here now and things are changing rapidly around us, at home and abroad, ready or not. If you do not like the changes you are seeing, do something about it; you have your voice, your dollars, your vote, your time – use them as you see fit to be the voice and the change you are seeking. NEVER FORGET: Not choosing is also a choice.
The cards above speak to our experiences so far this March; struggle with ideas, decision-making, planning, movement. With so much forward-back-side-to-side movement, it seems most of us are learning to cha-cha rather than move forward – BUT THAT’S OKAY!! There is still a great deal to learn; despite appearances, decisions founded in ignorance or prejudice are detrimental to long term success – study the fall of any great empire and you will see that message repeated over, and over, and over, again. We need to make solid, educated decisions, and we absolutely canNOT be afraid to ask for help!!!!! LET’S BE HONEST! No one can know everything, everyone needs help at some time – if someone arrives with an earnest offer of qualified assistance,
JUST SAY “THANK YOU” AND ACCEPT!!
Moving forward into Spring, you may feel a need to make some changes of your own. I suggest small, personal things that are easy, generally not too expensive, and can have an unexpectedly sizable impact:
- New haircut: It is so easy to maintain a comfortable hairstyle, we often forget we may actually look and feel better with something new. Think about it, look at some pics online, discuss it with your stylist. You may surprise yourself. (NOTE: If a new hair style is too daring for you, buy a new shampoo – one bottle is a short-term commitment, and you might find a new product you prefer.)
- New color palette: Choose a new lipstick and/or nail polish – something seasonal you do not plan to maintain beyond the three months of Spring. No big deal, just a little something to make you feel a little jazzed up!
- New recipe: Since you must eat anyway, consider trying recipes – choose some new herbs, spices, fruits, and/or vegetables outside of your normal routine. Give it a try for three months – if you don’t enjoy the experiments, don’t repeat them…but what if you do? YIPPEE!!
- New drink: New meals too much of risk for your family? Try something smaller, such as a different morning coffee drink, a new tea blend, or a flavored lemonade.
- New art: Visit your local library – look for new-to-you authors, music, and movies. You never know what new favorites you will find for yourself!
- New attitude: Decide to find joy in each day – it’s there, just look for it!
