May 25th, at 2:52PM CST, Hecate covers us with her protective darkness, shielding us from detractors, and imparting the wisdom of the ages…if we are only still and quiet enough to listen. It is very difficult to be both still and quiet in our modern time – social media and the 24 hour news cycle make it nearly impossible to turn off – and we have lost the patience and much of the focus required. It is an unfortunate occurrence but it is not insurmountable. In fact, it is reversible.
Let us look to the cards; we are instructed to take a brief inventory, recognize we have everything we need to move forward – including a sense of the dramatic which as we know, should be avoided! – it is now time to take a small step back, gather rest and strength, powering up for new and better ideas. Find your piece of quiet, and you will access the information you need. As always, self-care and meditation are important tools to these discoveries; as always, everything you need is already within, you just need to access it.
PRACTICAL MAGIC TIP: Looking for answers? Need to make some difficult decisions? Meditation, a useful tool any time, is particularly potent during the New Moon (a good time for new beginnings, new ideas, reconsiderations). To add extra potency to your practice, incorporate the fragrances of lavender, lemon balm, sage and/or rosemary; burn incense, shower with scented soap, wear natural oils, smudge your space, whatever works for you. Allow the fragrance(s) to envelope you, to carry you away from the distractions of the day and into yourself. Touch within yourself the knowledge you need.
As always, best of luck in your New Moon endeavors.
